If you caught the film I Love You, Man, you know the socially awkward character played by Paul Rudd loved this musical group more than anything. As a bonding moment between Rudd and his new BFF Sydney Fife (played by Jason Segel), the two rock out at a Rush concert. Though it might have opened up an entirely new audience to the veteran performers, Rush has long seen musical accomplishment. As the group found resurgence in their sound with the 2009 appearance, the Canadians released a film retrospective of their lengthy career.

The 106-minute documentary RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage opened at this year’s Tribeca Film Festivaland showcased the group’s rise to superstardom. Much like http://www.stubhub.com/ features <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/rush-tickets/”Rush tickets</a>, the music of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart shows their sound live in film.

The trio is taking a retrospective look back not just in their career but also in their sound, as Rush debuts the Time Machine Tour with a 37-city promotional jaunt for the album Moving Pictures. The 1981 best-seller features the group’s classic singles like “Limelight” and “Tom Sawyer,” both of which hit the Mainstream Rock and Billboard Hot 100 charts. Sure, it’ll be nice to see some of the classics – as Rush is set to play the entire 1981 classic – but longtime fans are eager to hear some new stuff, too.

And that’s just what they’ll get, says guitarist Lifeson, who revealed new Rush additions are pouring out of the group like never before. “We were off for a year and a half, and now it’s just pouring. Everything is totally crazy and there’s not a minute left in the day. We’ve got these half-dozen songs and we’ll probably go in the studio and work on a couple of them and see how it goes,” he said in a press statement.

The musical flow might have something to do with working with producer Nick Raskulinecz, the man behind Rush’s 2007 album Snakes & Arrows. In reality, though, working together never seemed much of a problem for the rockers who never took creating music their livelihood. “We take the music seriously and we try to play the best that we can,” said Lifeson to New York Timeout. “But we’ve always been very lighthearted about the band itself. I laughed at I Love You, Man with the rest of the crowd.”

Though their sound remains iconic, Rush is used to being the brunt of the joke. Despite musical success that makes them one of the best selling pop rock outfits in history, if it were up to the critics Rush’s unconventional methods would have killed them off years ago.

Formed in 1968, Rush originally included drummer John Rutsey in the outfit inspired by Cream. Rutsey was replaced by today’s songwriter and drummer Peart before the first LP, a step that proved successful for the group; Peart’s unique lyrics focused in a fantasy world was just what Rush needed to set them apart. The group found breakthrough success in 1976’s 2112, a set that gave the group their first gold and platinum release. Though fans enjoy it, critics were less than satisfied – a frequency that has plagued Rush since. But one thing’s for sure – guys like Rudd and Segal just can’t get enough of the Rush, and neither can Gen X hipsters who continue to buy Rush tickets today.

It’s wire excercise pen they sell at pet stores. We thought it would be tall enough, but she’s figured out how to jump/climb out of it. We don’t have the money to purchase a taller fence right now. Any ideas on how keep her in?

So far we’ve lost a shoe, a laptop cord, and a pillow.

My little sister was in my mom’s room when all of the sudden my dog peanut starts barking allot. My sister goes out there to investigate and then comes back and tells me that it is a cat out side. At the moment i really didn’t care because there are allot of cats who rome are streets so i just thought it was a regular cat so i said ok. She went back out side and said mimi (my nick name) and i said what happened then she said it’s a kitty out side and it needs help i got up and went out side then my dog peanut really started barking crazy then when i moved my dog a side there was a kitten stuck in are fence. it kept hissing at my do and it looked like it was only a couple weeks old even if that. so i ran inside to tell my mom and she came out side. she looked at it and said pick it up so we can help it i said no let me go get some gloves i ran gotthe gloves and after five minutes we actually got the little cat out the fence. i sat down with the kitten for about a hour singing to the cat and combing the hair and getting the fleas out of it’s hair lol ( i am such a geek ) after studiying it i found out that the kitten was a girl ( yay) lol but my mom will not let me keep it in the house so i used a really old blanket that i use to dry off my dog when he gets out the tub and rapped it around the kitten known as princess now lol i am such a geek !!!!!!!!! and i hid it in the chair were my little sister sits in in the front yard. they never sit there but it’s a start. any way i really need to no wat to feed the cat until my dad comes home and buy it food which i know he will do because oddly he likes cats lol so can some one tell me what i can feed the cat? and should i give the cat water or milk fyi this is my first cat lol

But, what if you were on the other side of the fence. what if you would have your children starving yelling daddy Im hungry and you feel impotent because what you make is enough to give them food just once a day (the lucky ones), you dont have many options so what would you do? Its a matter of survival, I would do the same thing if I would be in that position. Cross the border! make money and feed my family !

Here’s my theory, the vast majority of americans are for the Border fence, whether they want to admit or not. I would say at least 75%. Out of that 75%, I bet 50% would put there money where there mouth is. Here’s my plan: we offer our citizens the chance to be a part of history. Buy a plaque for $100 to put your family names on, and the names of your LEGAL IMMIGRANT family members, and a choice of saying related to liberty, the rule of law, etc. Part of the money pays for the plaque, the other part helps pay for the fence. Your plaque goes on the fence and faces Mexico.
